1 Overview
This document describes the hardware interface of the Ingenic Newton development board. Ingenic
Newton board integrates the Ingenic 1GHz JZ4775 processor, flash and memory, PMIC, Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth, NFC, 9-axis gyroscope/accelerometer/magnetometer sensor and ECG sensor on a small
module. It also provides several connectors for LCD, touch screen, temperature sensor, humidity
sensor, pressure sensor, DMIC and speaker. The Ingenic

Newton can run the latest version of
Android and Linux operating system, which makes it easy to develop various device drivers and
user applications on it.
1.1 Hardware Features

CPU: Ingenic JZ4775, up to 1.0 GHz.
 Multimedia: H.264 720P@30fps Decoding.
 Memory & Flash : KMS5U000JM-B308 (4GB eMMC + 3Gb LPDDR1)

LCD/TOUCH : 240X240 1.6" panel with capacitive touch screen, with backlight
 2 buttons: POWER and RETURN buttons

USB 2.0: Micro USB device.
 SDIO interface: Connect to WIFI.
 PCM CODEC interface: Connect to the Bluetooth PCM interface.

UART: Two wires RS232 protocol, connect to the ECG sensor and Bluetooth.
 SMB interface : Control PMU,capacitive touch screen, nine axes sensor, pressure
sensor(option), temperature & humidity sensor(option), NFC, Fuel Gauge
 I2S interface : Connect to Digital MIC
 Advanced power manager: Lithium battery charge; support RTC alarm and power up; very low
power consumption; battery charging status indicator and battery voltage monitor.
