TROUBLESHOOTING
MANUAL CONTROL
Problem Possible Causes
Pilot will not light
• Air in gas line
• Low gas pressure
• Gas line turned “Off”
• Blockage of gas line
Pilot does not stay lit
• Damaged thermocouple
•
Corrosion of thermocouple connection to valve
•
Damaged Gas Valve
•
Wind exceeding 10 mph
Main Burner does not light
• Low gas pressure
• Blockage in the main orifice
• Obstruction inside the burner

No Spark
• Weak battery
• Damaged Electrode
• Ground Plate not in place
• Loose or damaged wire
Spark will not light pilot

No gas to pilot

Electrode not sparking to pilot hood
• Improper electrode gap (3/16”)
AUTOMATIC GAS VALVE (V SERIES)
Problem Possible Causes
Main burner does not light
• No power to the heater (24 VAC required)
• Control knob not in “On” Position
ELECTRONIC IGNITION (E SERIES)

No Spark to Electrode
• Improper electrode ga (3/16”)
• Damaged electrode or wiring

Damage ground wire
Gas Valve does not open
•
No power to gas valve (24 VAC required)
• Loose or damaged wiring to gas valve

Damaged gas valve
Heater Shuts Down
• Wind exceeding 10 mph
• Electrode damaged or out of position
• Damage electrode connection
