4  Setting into Operation

4.1 Inserting the batteries

For operating the wireless microphone, two 1 .5 V
batteries of size AA are required .

•

Always insert (rechargeable) batteries of the
same type and always replace all of them .

•

If the microphone is not in use for a longer period
of time, always remove the batteries to prevent
damage due to battery leakage .

Never put batteries in the household
waste . Always dispose of the batteries
in accordance with local regulations .

1) To insert the batteries, seize the upper part of the

microphone (microphone head) and unscrew the
long microphone sleeve (3) . Remove the sleeve
from the microphone to access the battery com-
partment on the rear side of the microphone .

2) Insert the batteries with the positive and neg-

ative poles as indicated in the compartment .

3) After all settings have been made (chapters

4 .3 to 4 .5), replace the microphone sleeve and
screw it down . When pushing on the sleeve,
make sure to place the display window of the
sleeve over the display (1); otherwise you will not
be able to push the sleeve up to the threaded
ring (4) .

4.2 Switching on the microphone

Information on the display

To switch on the microphone, push the switch (2)
upwards . The backlight of the display (1) is acti-
vated for a few seconds . The display shows the
following information:
1 . the channel group (GROUP 00 – 07)
2 . the channel (CHANNEL 00 – 99)
3 .  the microphone sensitivity

(VOL  −30 dB,  −20 dB,  −10 dB,  00 dB)

4 . the battery status

Replace the batteries when the indication BATT starts flashing .

Make the settings described in chapters 4 .3 to 4 .5 .
Remember to switch off the microphone after use
to prevent discharge of the batteries .

4.3 Setting the transmission channel

First set a free transmission channel on the receiver
(see instruction manual of the receiver) . Then set
the wireless microphone to the same channel:

Automatic setting

also see instruction manual of the receiver
Point the IR sensor (8) of the wireless microphone
towards the IR window of the receiver . The distance
must not exceed 1 .5 m . Make sure that there are no
obstacles between the sensor and the IR window .

Briefly press the button ACT on the receiver .

The display backlight of the wireless microphone
is activated . Thus, the wireless microphone and
the receiver are set to the same channel group
and to the same channel (see indication on the
display) .

Manual setting

Set the wireless microphone and the receiver to
the same channel group and to the same channel .
To set a certain transmission frequency, find the
corresponding channel group and channel number
in the table on pages 24 / 25 .
1) Press the button SET (6) once so that the numer-

als of “GROUP” start flashing .

2) While the numerals keep flashing (5 seconds

after pressing the button SET,

 or

), set the

channel group with the button

 or

 (5) .

 Note:

If the numerals stop flashing before you have

set the group, press the button SET once again .

3) To set the channel number, press the button SET

repeatedly until the numerals of “CHANNEL”
start flashing .

4) Set the channel number with the button

 or

. Once the numerals stop flashing, the channel

setting has been stored .

4.4 Setting the transmission power

Set the transmission power of the wireless micro-
phone with the switch RF (7) .
–  upper position H (high) = high power for a long

range, but reduced battery life

–  lower position L (low) = low power for a long

battery life, but reduced range
