LED DMX Light Effect Panel
Please read these operating instructions care-
fully prior to operating the unit and keep them for
later reference.
1
Applications and Setup Options
The light effect panel RGBL-422DMX is de
-
signed for effect illumination (e. g. for radiating
coloured light or for creating running light effects
or stroboscope effects); it features a weather-
proof aluminium housing (IP 65) and is thus also
suited for outdoor applications. 12 extra-bright
RGBW LEDs are used as a light source.
The light effect panel is designed for control
via a DMX light controller (optionally 18, 10, 7, 5
or 2 DMX control channels); it may, however,
also be operated on its own with a set lighting
colour or with various colour change / running light
programs. Additionally, multiple RGBL-422DMX
can be connected (master / slave mode) to create
synchronous light effects.
The unit can be screwed to a wall or ceiling
by means of two mounting brackets, but may
also be placed onto an even surface. For sus-
pended mounting, guide safety ropes through
the two eyes located on the rear side of the unit
to prevent it from falling down.
2
Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to all relevant directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
.
Immediately disconnect the mains plug from
the socket
1. if the unit or the mains cable is visibly dam-
aged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by
skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must be replaced by
skilled personnel only.
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the
plug.
For cleaning the housing and the protective
pane in front of the LEDs, only use a mild
detergent.
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liabil-
ity for any resulting personal damage or mate-
rial damage will be accepted if the unit is used
for other purposes than originally intended, if it
is not safely mounted, if it is not correctly con-
nected or operated, or if it is not repaired in an
expert way.

Setting into Operation
Connect the plug (A) to the inline jack of the
mains cable supplied and secure the connection
by means of a cap nut. (Fig. 1 shows the finished
connection.) Connect the mains plug to a mains
socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz). The unit will be switched
on. The display will indicate the operating mode
(fig. 3) and will extinguish after 2 minutes. When
a button is pressed, it will light up for 2 minutes
again.
CAUTION! If no further unit is connected to the
cables POWER OUT and DMX OUT, make
absolutely sure to screw the protective covers
supplied onto the inline jacks. The cable
POWER OUT carries mains voltage!
3.1 Connecting multiple RGBL-422DMX
If multiple RGBL-422DMX are used, they can be
interconnected for power supply. Do not yet con-
nect the first light effect panel to a socket.
1) Using the inline jack of the cable POWER
OUT, connect the first unit to the plug (A) of
the cable POWER IN of the second unit.
Then proceed in the same way to connect the
second unit to the third one etc. until all units
are connected in a chain.
If the mains connection cables between
the units are too short, use suitable exten-
sion cables, e. g. ODP-34AC (2 m) or ODP-
34AC/10 (10 m).
2) On the last unit, screw the protective cover
supplied onto the inline jack of the cable
POWER OUT. The cable carries mains volt-
age!
3) Connect the mains plug of the first unit to a
mains socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).

which shows all operating steps.
4.1 Individual operation
For individual operation, it is possible to set a
lighting colour for each of the three LED groups
(if desired, with common stroboscope function)
or to run one of the colour change programs. In
addition, multiple RGBL-422DMX can be con-
nected (master / slave mode) to create synchro-
nous light effects.
4.1.1 Colour radiator and stroboscope
In this mode, a colour can be set for each of the
three LED groups. The stroboscope function
may additionally be activated:
Use the menu item
(static colour) to set the
brightness of the colours red, green, blue and
white one after the other for each LED group.
Use the menu item

WARNING The total current in the
con -
nection cables must not ex-
ceed 6.3 A; otherwise, a cable
fire may occur due to over-
load. Therefore, only intercon-
nect a maximum of 12 RGBL-
422DMX.
WARNING To prevent damage to your eyes,
never look directly into the light
source for any length of time.
Please note that fast changes in
lighting may trigger epileptic
seizures with photosensitive per-
sons or persons with epilepsy!
If the unit is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful
to the environment.
