IMPORTANT INFORMATION
NOTE FOR ADULTS
Before giving the product to children, first
remove all plastic, wires and any other object
designed to fasten it during transport.
This product comes factory-prepared for the
“TRY ME” function. The batteries that it inclu-
des are designed for this use. Therefore, it is
possible that they may be spent. If this is the
case, we recommend they should be replaced.
The product is distributed in its original packa-
ging and for demonstration purposes in stores
with the selector switch in the
(A) TRY-ME
position
(see fig. 1)
. The product has limited
functionality in this position and will not res-
pond to any voice commands. Turn the switch
to the ON position for normal operation.
OPERATION WITH BATTERIES
Replacement and installation
This product requires four LR6 (AA) 1.5V alkali-
ne batteries (included), 2 batteries in each foot.
Set the switch (A) to the OFF position (see fig.
1). Remove the safety screw from the battery
compartment cover (see Fig. 2). Remove the
dead batteries. Notice the correct placement
of the batteries in the image (see fig. 3) and pla-
ce them according to the position and polarity
indicated. Replace the lid and the safety screw
for your children’s safety. Perform the same
operation on the other foot.
Warning!
Replacing or handling the battery
should always be done under the supervision
of an adult.
Operation
Interacting with MEGAN is very easy. Depen-
ding on the learning level she is at, she will be
able to understand and carry out the move-
ment or action suggested out of those availa-
ble at each level.
There are 3 levels of knowledge and learning
and you can read about them in the quick gui-
de (card (D)) of
“How to play with MEGAN?”
(see Fig. 4), also included with the product for
your guidance and reference.
After a number of repetitions of the possible
actions indicated for each level, if you perform
them correctly, MEGAN will progress in her
learning and move up to a higher level out of
the
3 levels available
. MEGAN always indica-
tes a change of level and progress with a key
phrase indicated in the guide (Card (D)).
At first, MEGAN is at the basic level or first
learning level. At the
first level
, MEGAN is not
able to stand up and walk. Follow the
“How
to play with MEGAN?”
guide included in the
product.
Bear in mind:
Some actions require Megan to be in a certain
position before she can perform the com-
mand. Megan will indicate if she needs to be
moved (e.g. laid down, turned over, hold her
hands).
Energy saving mode
MEGAN will perform various actions if she
does not receive any interaction to attract her
attention. After about 30 seconds MEGAN will
go into energy-saving mode. To activate her
again, interact with her by touching sensor (C)
(see Fig. 1) or (F) (see Fig. 6). After playing with
her, we recommend that you turn the switch
to the
OFF
position so that she is completely
turned off.
Tips for proper use
Troubleshooting
If MEGAN is not responding, there is a decrease
in the volume of her sounds and she is making
erratic movements, this is a symptom of dead
batteries. To restart Megan if you have problems
with her freezing/sticking or unresponsive to com-
mands you must press the reset button (B) which
is next to the On/Off Switch (see Fig. 1). Keep the
button pressed for a few seconds for Megan to
restart; for easier access, use the tip of a pencil
to help you.
IMPORTANT!
When MEGAN restarts she will
have lost the knowledge she had gained and has
to start at learning level 1.
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning:
Only wash the surface of the pro-
duct by hand. Remember that there are me-
chanisms and electronic circuits inside it which
could be damaged when in contact with water.
Use a cloth slightly dampened with water or
dry foam, if necessary, and then dry immedia-
tely with a dry cloth or leave it to dry indoors,
without exposing to sunlight or direct heat sou-
rces. Do not use detergents or solvents.
Do not use it until it is completely dry. If the
equipment becomes wet, turn it off and remo-
ve the batteries immediately. Dry the battery
compartment with a dry cloth. Leave the bat-
tery compartment open until it is completely
dry. If you wish, use a hairdryer to speed this
process up. Do not try to use the unit until it
is completely dry.
When rolling over the floor, the wheel MEGAN
is equipped with in each foot may pick up dirt,
hairs and threads that can block the wheels.
Ask an adult to help you clean the wheels and
carefully remove the dirt that may impede mo-
vement. Remember to switch the product OFF
before doing this!
