HARDWARE INSTALLATION
2.1.1.
Sonar with Echo Sounder Option
To operate the sonar head and echo sounder, ensure the cable is connected to a PC via a 2-Wire RS-485
serial port or a USB to RS-485 converter. The cable is then connected to either of the echo sounder ports, and
the remaining echo sounder port is connected to the 852-GS scanning sonar by a 6-pin to 6-pin Impulse IE55
connector cable. Connections are shown below (Figure 1 Sonar Connection):
