3.2 Release System

The new Ikon Quick Release is the main component of our safety system so we did not hesitate
to upgrade from last generation when it comes to your safety.
When you use your IKON kite, for the first time, try the release system. It's important, to feel it,
and to know how it works, to use it rapidly when it’s needed. Lastly, be careful to your release
system, it have to be correctly closed before each time you launch your kite. Moreover, take time
to clean it with clear water after each session, and ensure there is no sand or salt water could
block the release.

Safety Options

Safety 1 : Adjust the trim using cleat adjustment. Trim initial position is in full power. Pulling the
depower handle towards you will reduce the power, you just have to lock it in the cleat system.
Pull the handle towards you and out off the cleat to recover full power setting.

Safety 2 : Let go of the bar
If you have too much power, let go of the bar, it will have for effect to have the maximum depower.
(Note : it's necessary to read security warning in previous pages, without important knowledge
this action on the bar could be very dangerous)

Safety 3 : Emergency safety
If you are in danger, push on the collar of the release system. It will disconnect you from the
chicken loop.

Safety 4 : Full release
If after using release system, the kite is still pulling you from the leash, grab the leash red safety
handle and push the release away. This action will completely disconnect you from the kite and
bring you to a total safe position.

NOTE:
Due to many external factors and the inherent dangers of kitesurfing, snowkiting or
landkiting, do not rely on this release system to activate under all conditions. Kite
within your limitations and stay far away from dangerous obstacles.
It’s better to check twice and act once!! If things are connected wrong the kite can
respond improperly when launched which can be very dangerous.
