14. Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean for best and safest performance.
Follow instructions for lubrication and changing accessories.
15. Use only original spare parts and accessories. The use of any other spare parts or accessories
than original parts may cause a risk of injury.
16. Reduce the risk of unintentional starting. Disconnect the machine always when not in use, be-
fore adjusting or servicing and when changing accessories such as drill bits etc. Make sure
switch is in off-position before plugging it in.
17. Many woodworking tools can kickback the workpiece toward the operator if not handled prop-
erly. Know what conditions create kickback and know how to avoid them.
18. Check the machine for damages. If you notice any damages in the machine, in its guards or
other parts, do not use it until it has been repaired in an authorized service center. Check for
alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other
conditions that may affect the machine operation. Damaged parts should be properly repaired or
replaced by an authorized service center.
19. Never leave the machine running unattended. Turn power off and do not leave the machine until
it comes to a complete stop.
20. Do not use the machine when you are tired, sick or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medi-
cation or similar that could affect your ability to use the machine safely.
21. Never allow unsupervised or untrained persons to operate the machine. Make sure any instruc-
tions you give in regards to machine operation are approved, correct, safe and clearly under-
stood.
22. If at any time you are experiencing difficulties performing the intended operation, stop using the
machine and ask an authorized service center how the operation should be performed.
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Do not operate the drill press until it is completely assembled and installed according to instruc-
tions.
2. Connect the machine to a grounded outlet only. Only a qualified electrician is allowed to do
electrical connections.
3. The use of a face shield along with safety glasses is recommended.
4. Do not wear gloves when operating the drill press.
5. Always clamp the workpiece securely to the table before drilling. Never hold a workpiece by
hand while drilling.
6. Always operate the drill press at speeds that are appropriate for the drill bit size and the material
that you are drilling.
7. Never turn the drill press on before clearing the table of all objects such as tools, scrap etc.
8. Never start the drill press with the drill bit pressed against the workpiece.
9. Always keep hands and fingers away from the drill bit. Do not let your hands touch the moving
parts during operation.
10. Feed the drill bit evenly into the workpiece. Back the bit out of deep holes and clear the chips
with a brush after you have turned the machine off.
11. Make sure the drill bit you are using is tightened properly in the chuck and the chuck key is re-
moved from the chuck before turning the power on. Use only round, hex or triangular shank
drill bits. Also check that the table lock is tightened.
12. Always stop the drill before removing scrap pieces from the table.
13. Never do maintenance or change speeds with the machine plugged in.
14. Never use tools that are in poor condition. Cutting tools that are dull or damaged are difficult to
control and may cause serious injury.
15. Workpiece should be positioned in such a way as to avoid drilling into the table.
16. Never stand on the machine. Serious injury could occur if the machine is tipped or if the drill bit
is unintentionally contacted. Do not store anything above or near the machine.
