DISPOSABLE EAR PLUGS
Instruction manual
These disposable ear plugs are designed for personal use. They must be worn always when the use of hearing pro-
tectors is recommended. Ensure you understand when they should be worn and if there are any queries, ask your
supervisor. The attenuation values of these ear plugs are given in the chart below.

SNR = 37dB, H = 36dB, M = 34dB, L = 33dB
SNR = Attenuation against average industrial noise, H = Attenuation against high-frequency noise, M = Attenuation
against medium-frequency noise, L = Attenuation against low-frequency noise
FITTING / REMOVAL
Roll the ear plug to a small, crease-free cylinder between your fingers.
Raise your ear at the top and insert the compressed ear plug in to the
ear canal. Press the ear plug lightly and hold until it expands. Remove
the ear plug slowly and with a twisting motion to gradually break the
seal. The nominal diameter of these ear plugs is 27 mm.
IMPORTANT
Ear plugs must be fitted in accordance with instructions. Fit the ear plugs before exposure to noise, and wear them
during the whole exposure to noise. Before use, store in a cool and dry place.
WARNINGS
-
It is very important that all instructions in this manual are adhered to. If not, the protection afforded will be severely
impaired.
-
Remember that hearing protectors can shut out ambient sounds such as warning shouts, alarms and other im-
portant signals. Be therefore extra cautious of your surroundings when wearing hearing protectors.
-
Although hearing protectors can be recommended for protection against the harmful effects of impulsive noise,
the SNR is based upon the attenuation of continuous noise and may not be an accurate indicator of the protection
attainable against impulsive noise such as gunfire. Constant or repetitive exposure to impulsive noise may lead to
serious hearing impairment or temporary or permanent deafness.
-
Certain chemicals may damage these ear plugs and adversely affect their attenuation properties.
-
Keep away from children. Ear plugs may get caught in windpipe which could lead to serious injury or death. After
use, the ear plugs should be disposed of away from children.
-
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the material which comes into contact with the wearer’s skin does not
cause an allergic reaction, this may not be the case for a minority of sensitive individuals. In the event of any such
problem, stop wearing the ear protector immediately and seek professional medical advice.
