LOG PLACEMENT FOR BRT4042, BRT4342 AND BRT4542 

MODELS
1.  Place large back log (log 1) onto grate making sure notches rest 

over grate 

(see Figure 26).

2.  Insert lower end of log 2A between first two grate fingers and 

position upper end into notch on front of log 1. See Figure 26. 

Place log 2B on front right side of grate as shown in Figure 26.

3.  Place log 3 into notch on top left of log 1, resting lower end on 

left two grate fingers

4.  Place upper end of log 4 into notch on log 1 as shown in 

Figure 

27

. Rest lower end of log 4 on middle grate finger as shown in 

Figure 28

5.  Place upper end of log 5 into notch on top inner right of log 1 

(see Figure 28)

6.  Place log 6 into notch on top right of log 1

As an option to enhance the look of the hearth, you may place the 

volcanic stone provided around front and sides of burner pan.

NOTE: It is important to ensure proper log placement per the manual 

when installing these units. Verify pilot flame is not obstructed. See 

Inspecting Pilot and Burner Flame Patterns on Page 19.

NOTICE: Do not put volcanic stone inside the burner 

pan or around the air mixer fitting. Placing volcanic 

stone inside the burner pan or blocking the openings 

of the propane/LP air mixer could cause performance 

problems.
