The monitor determines the deviation in percent between the input frequencies,
compares it with the set switch point (slip in %) and switches output 1 according
to the selected switching function.
In conjunction with the integrated speed monitor for the drive IN2 and the switch-
ing output OUT2 the monitor enables monitoring
• of faults like rotational speed exceeded/not reached, blocking, overload or jam,
• of operational status like maximum or minimum rotational speed reached,
• or of defined slip/synchronous movement and frequency ranges.
During operation the frequency ratio IN 1
≤
IN 2 is evaluated. The frequency ratio
IN 1 > IN 2 cannot be evaluated.
FS-1/FS-1N monitors have a one channel design. By means of an electrical
connection of the outputs of two or several units to achieve a redundant cir-
cuit, they can also be used for safety tasks. The applicable technical standards
must be adhered to.
