To install the SATAII&SAS backplane with expander board for 2.5” HDD
Reverse the steps above to install the SATAII&SAS backplane with expander board for 2.5”
HDD.

SCSI/SATAII&SAS HDDs
The server can support four types of HDD assemblies as follows.
•
Six 3.5” SCSI HDDs
•
Or six 3.5” SATAII HDDs
•
Or six 3.5” SATAII&SAS HDDs
•
Or twelve 2.5” SATAII&SAS HDDs
The hot-swappable function is supported by the HDD assembly. When replacing the HDD
assembly, it is not necessary to power off the server.
The three types of 3.5” HDD assemblies share the same location on the server chassis. For
your reference, the following is an example using the location of 3.5” SATAII&SAS HDD
assembly.
The location of 3.5” HDD assemblies on the server chassis is shown below:
