Antenna
The C-Thrue System is developed with a dual polarization antenna (1 VV
and 1HH channel), with a central frequency of 2 Ghz.
Dual polarization permits detection on both first and second levels of
rebars. (

). The offset between the VV and HH antenna center, is 10 cm
(see
Fig. 5

Control unit
The Radar Control Unit (DAD) is lodged and integrated within the main
system body (
Fig. 5
). No Cables have to be connected on it. Under the
handle, there is a power button to turn it on/off (
Fig. 4
).
The main power characteristics of the Control Unit are:
Voltage: 12 V +/- 10%
Absorbed power: 8 W
Wheel Encoders
The C-Thrue employs bidirectional encoders for collecting distance data,
regardless which one of the four wheel is in direct contact with the surface
This feature ensures that the distance is correctly registered even in rough
surface when, at times, not all the wheels are in touching with it (

).
