5.1. Brine Sur faces Collector
5.1.1. Description
With this system, plastic pipes, Ø25 x 2.3 mm, are
laid in the soil with a length of 100 m each for heat
absorption. Multiple pipework circuits may be required
depending on the heat pump size. The brine medium
circulates through these pipes. The heat exchange
between the brine medium and the refrigerant takes
place in the evaporator set (stainless steel plate heat
exchanger).
The following is required to connect the brine circuit:
brass distributors with shut-off valves, safety valve,
pressure gauge, expansion vessel, thermometer and
brine circulation pump. The fl exible connection hoses
provided must be installed to prevent the transmission
of noise. The connection lines between the distributor
and heat pump must be set up on-site however no
zinc-plated pipes may be used.
The mixing ratio of the brine medium must be selected
up to -15°C (= 30% proportion of antifreeze). If too
much antifreeze is added the specifi c heat content of
the brine medium drops.
Caution!
In the case of the circulation pump, the elec-
trical conduit box must not be positioned downwards.
The pump head (Motor) must not be insulated.
5.1.2. Application range
Suitable for all heat pumps type TERRA .. S/W(H).
5.1.3. Scope of deliver y
- Plastic piping Ø 25 x 2.3 mm in rings for each
100 m, number of rings depends on the heat pump
performance.
- Connection unit with
• Flow and return distributor with shut-off valve for
each circuit
•
Safety valve
•
Pressure gauge
•
2 thermometers
•
Expansion vessel
•
Brine circulation pump
Notes:
- Only antifreeze approved by IDM-Energiesysteme
GmbH may be used.
- Brine circuit lines must be provided with steam
diffusion-tight insulation in the event of the forma-
tion of condensation and the accumulation of ice
(e.g. Armafl ex).
- Brine circuit pump and brine circuit expansion ves-
sel must be positioned on the heat pump inlet side
(warm side).
- The brine circuit expansion vessel must be con-
nected from the brine line upwards.
- When fi lling the brine circuit with antifreeze mix, the
expansion vessel must be fi lled (due to a reduction
in volume during cooling when in operation).
5. Heat source
In many countries, geothermal utilisation
must be approved by the water authori-
ties. The relevant application should be
made on time.
