7.3 REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES

LifeCare PCA

5. Remove the remaining portion of the nylon hardware posts from the MCU PWA

with needle nose pliers.

6. Place the MCU PWA on a stable surface. Align the nylon hardware posts

on the replacement icon display PWA with the two holes on the MCU PWA,
and press carefully to attach the icon display PWA.

7. Reassemble the infuser in the exact reverse order of disassembly.

To verify successful replacement of the icon display PWA, perform the PVT in

Section 5.6

The replacement part for this procedure is:

To replace the lithium coin cell battery, see

Figure 7-6

, and proceed as follows:

1. Disconnect the infuser from AC power.

2. Separate the front and rear enclosures as described in

Section 7.2.2

3. Place the front enclosure face down on a soft, flat surface.

4. With pump open and the rear assembly on the far side of the front assembly, remove

the fasteners that hold the barcode reader. Once removed, rock the barcode reader
away from the chassis and pull up. Disconnect the 7-pin barcode connector J8.

5. Remove the PCA locking mechanism:

- Loosen the nut that holds the door lock assembly to the side wall and completely

unscrew it.

- Remove the two fasteners that hold the door latch assembly to the center of the

front half of the pump.

- Pull the door lock assembly out the side of the pump and catch the nut and keypad

grounding bracket to keep from contacting the MCU PWA.

- Remove the door latch assembly by pulling up. If the door latch assembly doesn't

move, rotate the arm to unlock the door and disconnect the door latch assembly.

- Disconnect the 4-pin switch connector J12.

6. Disconnect the following connectors:

- motor connectors from the MCU PWA J18, J16, J12

- CE connectors

- power supply connectors J17, J14

7. Remove the three fasteners holding the MCU PWA in place, then remove the

MCU PWA.

8. Reattach the battery connector J14 and wait five minutes to charge the super cap.

CAUTION:

Exercise care when replacing or reinstalling the nylon

posts. Applying excessive pressure on the posts may bend or damage
the PWAs.

CAUTION:

Replacement of the lithium coin cell battery must be completed

within one minute in order to avoid data corruption and loss of the serial
number.
