BASIC OPERATION

Receiving

Rotate [PWR/VOL] to turn power ON.

Rotate [SQUELCH] fully counterclockwise.

Adjust [PWR/VOL] to a suitable listening level.

Rotate [SQUELCH] clockwise until the audio noise disap-
pears.

Select the desired channel. See pgs. 6–7 for details.

• When a signal is received:

The squelch opens;

Audio is emitted from the speaker;

“BUSY” appears in the function dis-
play.

Dual/tri-watch functions

These functions allow you to conveniently check the distress
channel (ch 16) or, both the distress and programmable call
channel while receiving another channel. When receiving a
signal on one of these channels, the transceiver stops on the
channel until the signal disappears.
