Chapter 4. Configuring your server
This chapter provides the instructions for starting the utility programs. For more
detailed information about these utility programs, see the
User’s Reference
on the
IBM
xSeries 330 Type 8675 Documentation
CD.
You can use the following configuration programs to customize your server hardware:
•
Configuration/Setup Utility program
The Configuration/Setup Utility program is part of the
basic input/output system
(
BIOS

the Configuration/Setup Utility program”.
•
SCSISelect Utility program
With the built-in SCSISelect Utility program, you can configure the devices that

installation of your server to configure the server hardware and simplify your
network operating system (NOS) installation. The
ServerGuide
CDs also contain
a collection of application programs, which you can install after your server is up
and running. See “Using the ServerGuide CDs” on page 27 for more detailed
information.
•
ServeRAID programs
If you have a ServeRAID
™
adapter installed in your server, you must use the
ServeRAID configuration program to define and configure your disk-array
subsystem before you install your operating system.
Note:
See the
User’s Reference
on the
IBM xSeries 330 Type 8675
Documentation
CD for detailed instructions for using the configuration
programs.
•
Advanced System Management (ASM) configuration programs
You can obtain ASM configuration programs from the IBM Support page at
http://www.ibm.com/pc/support on the World Wide Web. You can use these
