Error Message
(continued) The resolution for an Error
Code suggests a FRU
replacement… Before performing a FRU replacement:
• Observe the LEDs on all components. See “Interpreting
LEDs” on page 7-17. If the LEDs on a component indicate that
there is a problem, reseat the component.
• Visually check, and reseat if necessary, all of the cables that are
connected to the failing FRU. See “Reseating Cables” on
page 7-23.
• If possible, power cycle the library.
• If the suspect component is a FRU, see “Check, Adjust,
Remove, and Replace Procedures” on page 9-1 for
instructions on replacing the FRU component.
The drive is flashing a FID
message… 1. Check the error message on the Operator Panel. See “Error
Codes” on page 1-5 for the meaning of the error message.
2. Check if the drive is flashing a FID message through the view
window. See “Tape Drive FRU ID (FID) Data” on page 1-33
for the meaning of the FID message.
A TapeAlert flag was
received… See “TapeAlert Flags” on page 1-20 for the meaning of the
TapeAlert message.
You are experiencing an
Accessor or bar code reader
problem… Run the Library Verify diagnostic to identify the problem. See
“Running Library Verify Diagnostics” on page 7-5.
You are experiencing a
problem with the library
and no Error Code was
created… Run the Library Verify diagnostic to identify the problem. See
“Running Library Verify Diagnostics” on page 7-5.
You get repeated errors… Open and close the cartridge magazines to ensure that all
previous error handling is completed and to enable normal
library robotic function.
Run the Library Verify diagnostic while viewing the Accessor
through the view window. See “Running Library Verify
Diagnostics” on page 7-5.
The Alarm LED or Error
LED on the front panel is
lit… See “Interpreting LEDs” on page 7-17.
HTML error 404 appears on
computer screen when
trying to launch the Web
User Interface… 1. Verify that the Ethernet cable is properly connected at both
ends.
2. Ping the library address to verify communication.
3. Verify network settings at host and library.

section titled 3592 C06 Controller attached to 3577 L5U
Library for information on library configuration (especially
network) when in this environment.
