Using the Multi-Port USB Hub
To use other USB devices with the ports on the back of the keyboard, follow
these instructions.
With your computer turned on and the TrackPoint USB Keyboard plugged in
and operating, plug the other USB devices into the port on the keyboard, and
then follow the on-screen instructions.
For more information on how to configure and use the other devices with your
keyboard, see the user guides that came with those devices.
Important: Do not activate resource-intensive devices at the same time, because
USB limitations might cause a degradation in the performance and speed of
the devices. For example, do not start a USB scanner while you are using a
USB camera. Instead, close the application for the camera; then start the
scanner.
Disabling a ThinkPad
®
onboard pointing device
Use the TrackPoint USB software CD to install the device driver, even if a
TrackPoint pointing device is included in a ThinkPad computer.
After you install the TrackPoint device driver on a ThinkPad mobile computer,
the onboard TrackPoint pointing device on most ThinkPad mobile computers
will automatically disable each time you start your computer with the
keyboard connected.
