5. Pivot lever

securing the heat sink until it is fully in the up position.
Remove the heat sink

from the system board by carefully lifting it up and
off the system board.
Note:
If you are replacing a defective system board you must reinstall the
same heat sink. Carefully place the heat sink on its side on a clean, flat surface
so the thermal material on the bottom of the heat sink does not touch the
surface and become contaminated.
6. Release the locking lever

that secures the microprocessor

, then pivot
the microprocessor retainer

until it is fully open.
