Removing and installing a hard disk drive
The following section describes how to remove and replace 2.5-inch hot-swap hard
disk drives and 3.5-inch simple-swap hard disk drives.
Removing a 2.5-inch hot-swap hard disk drive
To remove a 2.5-inch hot-swap hard disk drive, complete the following steps.
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 71.
2. Rotate the drive tray handle of the drive that is to be removed to the open
position.
3. Grasp the drive handle and pull the drive out of the bay.
4. If you are instructed to return the hard disk drive, follow all packaging
instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to
you.
