This document provides information for upgrading and configuring the
ProtecTIER
®
software on 3958 DD1, 3958 DD3, 3958 DD4and 3958 AP1 servers.
Who should read this document
This publication is intended for use by both customers and IBM
®
trained
ProtecTIER specialist, depending on the extent of the upgrade being performed.
Tasks for upgrading the ProtecTIER software from v2.4.x.x, or v2.5.x.x to v3.1.x.x
are to be performed by the customer. Upgrades which also involve changes to the
hardware configuration and/or first-time replication enablement, are to be
performed by trained ProtecTIER specialists.
What's new in this edition
Summary of the new functions available in ProtecTIER v3.1.x.x.
The following are new for the 3.1.x.x release:

Added section on updating ProtecTIER v3.1.x.x with fixes.
