Cluster nodes
A cluster must contain at least four cluster nodes. The cluster nodes perform the
computational tasks in the cluster. Cluster nodes are also known as compute
nodes.
The cluster nodes are a combination of the following components:

Management node
Each cluster contains one management node, which provides system management
for all modules in the cluster. The Cluster 1350 management node is typically a
server running Linux.

v IBM System x3655 server
You can also use a 326m server or the IBM BladeCenter Advanced Management
Module as the management node in a cluster environment running a 64-bit Linux
operating system.
Storage nodes
The optional storage nodes manage the mass storage. The cluster supports up to 64
storage nodes. The total number of storage and compute nodes cannot exceed
1024.
