Verify AIX Software Installation

To verify that the device driver for the PCI Dual Channel Ultra3 SCSI Adapter is
installed, do the following:

1. If necessary, log in as root user.

2. Type

lslpp -l devices.pci.00102100*

, and then press Enter.

Possible results are as follows:

If the PCI Dual Channel Ultra3 SCSI Adapter device software is installed, the
following is an example of the data that displays on your screen:

Adapter” on page 13.

If no data displays on your screen, the PCI Dual Channel Ultra3 SCSI Adapter device
driver did not install. Return to Chapter 3, “Installing Device Driver Software” on
page 5. Then return to “Verify AIX Hardware Installation” on page 14.

If you continue to experience problems, it may be necessary to call your system support
organization. Refer to your operating system documentation for instructions.

Configuring the Ultra3 SCSI Adapter

The Ultra3 SCSI adapter permits use of Ultra3 adapter speeds by an external device. In
LVD mode, the maximum speed is automatically set, depending on the data transfer
rate supported by the attached device. You can use SMIT to control Ultra3 adapter
speeds for external devices, as described in the following sections.
