1.2 Diagnostic Aids (All models)
The diagnostic aids used to isolate a failing field replaceable unit (FRU)
are:
Power-On Self-Test (POST)
Advanced diagnostic tests on the Reference Diskette
Hardware Maintenance Service pamphlets.
When instructed to Power-on the system, turn on the power to all
externally attached devices (such as displays, printers, or plotters)
before turning on power to the system unit.
When instructed to Power-off the system, turn off the power to all
externally attached devices and then turn off the power to the system
unit.
