To cable the cluster adapters, complete the following steps, using the
diagram for reference. NVRAM6 adapters, which also function as the
cluster interconnect adapters, must be installed in slot 1 of each gateway
node.

Cluster cables can be either fiber or copper. If you are using fiber

cables, a copper-fiber converter must be plugged into the NVRAM6
adapter before attaching a fiber cluster cable.

The cable management arm must be used to support the cluster

cables. If left unsupported, the adapter connectors can be damaged by
the cable weight.

5.1.1

Plug one end of the cluster cable into one of gateway 1's
cluster adapter ports. Then plug the other end into gateway 2's
corresponding cluster adapter port.

You must not cross-cable the cluster-interconnect

adapter. Cable the gateway1 ports only to the identical ports on
the gateway 2 node.

5.1.2

Repeat step 5.1.1 for the remaining port on the cluster adapter.

5.1.3

Gently pull on the cable ends to ensure that they are properly
seated.

5.1.4

Go to Step 6 on page 13.
