Using the Monitor
The monitor feature is designed to allow you to listen to your telephone call with-
out having to hold a handset up to your ear. There are many reasons to use this
feature, such as if you are on hold and are waiting for the other party to talk to
you again but want your hands free to do something else while you listen.
There are two ways to use the monitor feature:
•
Press the
m
button and then dial out normally. You are free to place the
phone in the charging cradle without being disconnected. The phone will
automatically use monitor mode until either
m
is pressed or the handset
is lifted from the cradle.
•
Press the
m
button while the phone is already off-hook. The phone
enters monitor mode and can be placed into the cradle without disconnecting
the phone call. The phone will stay in monitor mode until either
m
is
pressed or the handset is lifted from the cradle.
