Hypervisor problems
The hypervisor provides error diagnostics with associated error codes, isolation procedures, and symbolic
failing items for troubleshooting.
Table 16 describes the isolation procedures and the symbolic failing items.
Table 16. Hypervisor isolation procedures and symbolic failing items
v
Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem is
solved.
v
See Chapter 7, “Parts listing for IBM Flex System p270 Compute Node,” on page 95 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v
If an action step is preceded by Trained service technician only, that step must be performed only by a trained
service technician.
Isolation
procedure or
symbolic failing
item
Symptom
Action
ANYPROC
The failing
component is one of
the system
processors.
Replace the microprocessors, as described in “Removing a
microprocessor and heat sink” on page 69 and “Installing a
microprocessor and heat sink” on page 75.
CAPACTY
The failing
component is the
management card.
1.
Replace the management card, as described in “Removing the
management card” on page 58 and “Installing the management card”
on page 60.
2.
After replacing the card and installing the compute node in the
chassis unit and before rebooting the compute node or performing
other operations, ensure that the initialization of the VPD on the
management card occurs by waiting for the management module to
discover the compute node. Otherwise, the system might fail to
perform an initial program load (IPL).
CLCKMOD
The logic oscillator is
failing.
Replace the system-board and chassis assembly, as described in
“Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly” on page 83.
FRPORT
This item does not apply to compute nodes. Continue with the next item in the failing item list.
HEA
This item does not apply to compute nodes. Continue with the next item in the failing item list.
HSL_LNK
This item does not apply to compute nodes. Continue with the next item in the failing item list.
LICCODE
A firmware problem
occurred.
See Isolating firmware problems.
LPARCFG
There is a
configuration
problem with the
system or with a
logical partition.
1.
Perform all actions associated with the other failing items logged
with this System reference code (SRC). If that does not resolve the
problem, continue with the next step.
2.
Check processor and memory allocations of the system or the
partitions.
Verify that the processor and memory have enough functioning
resources in the system for all of the partitions. Processor or memory
have enough functioning resources that failed or were removed
during system power on could cause the problem in the partition.
3.
Check the bus and I/O adapter allocations for the partition.
Verify that the partition has load source and console I/O resources.
4.
Check the IPL mode of the system or failing partition.
5.
