Integration Guide

WebSphere Application Server Sequential Queue Cluster

The following diagram shows one example of a cluster configuration on the
WebSphere Application Server. The sequential queue receives JMS producer
messages and processes the JMS consumer messages.

A sequential queue integration bus cluster consists of three application servers
and one message engine on a single application server.

A

TTENTION

Do not implement the sequential queue on the continuous queue integration bus.
When you use the continuous queue integration bus for sequential queue
implementations, messages may be unprocessed or may be processed out of
order.

The load balancer directs the application server to drop enterprise service
messages into the sequential queue. When messages are in the queue, the
application server that is running the JMS consumer cron task processes messages
sequentially.
