For the F3 forms device:

– You should design forms so that no printing takes place

within 12.7 mm (0.5 in.) of either the left edge or the right
edge of the form. This makes certain that the feed rollers do
not press on fresh print and cause smearing.

– Do not use forms with holes.

For the F4 forms device:

– Do not mix or interleave paper of different sizes or

compositions in the same input bin.

– Do not use forms with holes, cut-outs, or windows.

– Do not use envelopes or card stock.
