4.4.5 USB Configuration
BIOS Setting Description
Legacy USB Support

Enabled enables Legacy USB support.

Auto disables legacy support if there is no
USB device connected.

Disabled keeps USB devices available only
for EFI applications.
XHCI Hand-off This is a workaround for OSes without XHCI
hand-off support. The XHCI ownership change
should be claimed by XHCI driver.
USB Mass Storage Driver
Support Enables / Disables the support for USB mass
storage driver.
USB Transfer time-out The time-out value (1, 5, 10, 20 secs) for
Control, Bulk, and Interrupt transfers.
Device reset time-out Gives seconds (10, 20, 30, 40 secs) to delay
execution of Start Unit command to USB mass
storage device.
Device power-up delay The maximum time the device will take before it
properly reports itself to the Host Controller.
Auto uses default value for a Root port it is
100ms. But for a Hub port, the delay is taken
from Hub descriptor.
Generic Ultra
MS-COMBO Mass storage device emulation type. “AUTO’
enumerates devices according to their media
format. Optical drives are emulated as
‘CDROM’ drives with no media will be emulated
according to a drive type.
