After the food item has been selected (it’s marked by black background, see Picture 6), you need to

immerse the measuring probe into its flesh (or immerse it in water while measuring TDS) by two thirds of the

measuring probe’s length and press the button

. You’ll see the animated performance of the

measuring process on the screen (Picture 7).
