FORMATTING THE USB MEMORY STICK
The procedure described for formatting the USB Memory stick
here applies to Windows XP. For other operating systems such
as Windows Vista or Apple Mac, the process is similar but with
some differences in detail. In that case please consult the user
documentation for your operating system or computer.
1.
Plug the USB Memory Stick into your computer’s USB port.
2.
Go to ‘Computer Management’ by:
a.
right-clicking on the ‘My Computer’ icon displayed on the
desktop and opening the ‘Manage’ command,

Select ‘Disk Management.’
4.
Right-click on the white area on the right of the ‘Removable’
Disk icon. The word ‘Unallocated’ will then be displayed here.
5.
Click ‘New Partition.’
6.
Follow the instructions of the ‘New Partition Wizard’. As there
is no need to change the default values, click ‘Next’ and the
‘Format Partition’ window will appear.
7.
In the ‘Format Partition’ window, choose FAT or FAT32 for
‘File system.’
8.
Click ‘Next’ and ‘Finish.’
9.
The window of your USB Memory Stick appears. The Memory
Stick is ready for use with your PC.
