4 Using Your Decoder
Turning Your Decoder On / Off
Switch on the TV set and any other connected equipment. Then switch your decoder on by pressing the button on
the remote control. When you are not using your decoder, put it into standby by pressing this buttons again. The standby
mode of operation is indicated by the red light on the front panel. When the decoder comes out of standby, the last
channel viewed appears.
Basic Rule “Point & Select”
You only need to know one rule to use your decoder. This rule is called
“Point and Select”. Once you master this rule, you can use any part of
your decoder’s functionality. You “point” by pressing the arrow buttons on
the remote control or front panel. Pressing the arrow buttons moves the
“on-screen” highlight to different items on the screen. Once you have
pointed to an item on the screen, select it by pressing the button
on the remote control.
Channel Banner
Channel Banner appears at the bottom of the screen
when you tune your decoder to a new channel or when
you press the button.
It offers you basic information about individual programs
and facilitates surfing through channels and programs.
Channel Banner will disappear automatically after a few
seconds or when you press .
Note that some Channel Banner information will be
available only in case of digital channels.
