5.6 - Fuel Filter Cleaning and Replacement
This generator uses a two-filter system to prevent impurities from reaching the
engine.
CLEANING THE FUEL TANK PRIME FILTER
1. Inspect filter and clean as required:
• remove the fuel tank cap
• remove the prime fuel filter
• clean with fresh diesel fuel
• insert the clean filter back into the fuel tank
CLEANING THE IN-LINE FUEL FILTER
The in-line fuel filter is located below the fuel tank, inside the hose that delivers fuel
to the engine.
1. Open the side canopy door to gain access to the filter assembly.
2. Remove the metal brackets from the hose near the injection valve.
3. Place a container under the tank and drain all remaining fuel.
4. Remove the metal brackets from the hose on both sides of the filter.
5. Remove the existing fuel filter and replace with a new one, paying close
attention to the alignment of all components.
6. Reinstall brackets on the filter hose.
7. Prime the new filter by filling tank with fuel and removing air pockets.
5.8 - Checking Battery Charge
Ensure that the electric start battery remains charged to maintain start-up reliability.
Battery voltage should be checked monthly, regardless of use. The optimal charge
level is above 12V. If the charge is less than 12V, charge battery using an external
battery charger.
To prevent the battery from draining, run the generator for a minimum of 30 minutes
every month. disconnect the battery if the generator will not be in use for long
periods of time. No electrolyte maintenance is needed for this type of battery.
