III. PREPARATION AND USE
1) First check that the voltage marked on the product is the same as your supply voltage.
2) Select a suitable position close to an electric socket, on a dry and flat surface.
3) Make sure (that) the control button is turned to the setting. Plug in the appliance.
4) There is an invisible protective coating applied on the hot plates as part of the
manufacturing process. This protective coating must be removed before you can use
the appliance for the first time. In order to do this, set the control button to the maximum
setting and leave the cooker switched on for approximately 10 minutes. Make sure
that the room is properly ventilated, as some smoke can occur. This is not a cause for
concern; it is the process by which the protective coating is removed. Switch the
hot plate and let it cool down completely, the appliance is now ready for use.
5) Switch ON the plate by the control button and select the temperature. The hot plate has
a range of various temperature levels. The light will go off when the hot plate reaches the
selected temperature and it will turn on and off cyclically to maintain the same temperature.
6) Due to the hot plate’s construction, some residual heat will remain after switching off the
appliance. This may be used to keep food warm for a short period of time after it has
been cooked. After use, turn temperature dial to and unplug the appliance from the
electrical outlet.
Caution
For cooking, use pots and pans with flat (ground) bottom of the same diameter as
that of the ring or bigger by no more than 2 centimetres. Uneven pot bottom tends to
compromise the transfer of heat from the ring into the pot, causing higher power demand
and longer cooking times.
