Safety system of your vehicle
• When r eturning t he r ear s eatbacks
to t he upr ight pos ition, r emember
to r eturn t he r ear s houlder belts to
t heir prop er pos ition.
• Routing t he s eat belt w ebbing
through t he r ear s eat belt guides
will help keep t he s eat belts from
being tr apped behind or u nder t he
seats.
NOTICE
Cargo
Cargo s hould always be s ecured to
pr event it from being t hrown about
the v ehicle in a collision and caus-
ing injury to t he v ehicle o ccupants.
Do not p lace o bjects in t he r ear
seats, s ince t hey cannot be prop er-
ly s ecured and may hit t he front
seat o ccupants in a collision.
WARNING
When you r eturn t he r ear s eat-
back to its upr ight pos ition after
being folded down:
Be careful not to damage t he s eat
belt w ebbing or buckle. Do not
allow t he s eat belt w ebbing or
buckle to get caught or p inched in
the r ear s eat. Ensure t hat t he
seatback is completely locked into
its upr ight pos ition by pus hing o n
the top o f t he s eatback.
Otherwise, in an accident or su d-
den stop , t he s eat could fold down
and allow cargo to enter t he p as-
senger compartment, w hich could
result in
s
erious injury
or
death.
WARNING
Cargo loading
Make sur e t he engine is o ff, t he
manual tr ansaxle is in R (Reverse)
or 1st, and the parking brake is
securely applied whenever loading
or unloading cargo. Failure to take
these steps may allow the vehicle
to move if the shift lever is inadver-
tently moved to another position.
WARNING
