Battery life
Estimating battery life
Battery life is affected by the average supply current consumption of the logger.
The Hydro-Logic
®
Flexi Logger 100 logger monitors its own average current
consumption, which can be a useful diagnostics tool and help to predict issues
Double-click on a plot on Harvest to display the logger configuration:
If you hover over the Internal label, text will show you a conservative battery life
estimate (2).
Here, the average current consumption (1) is 2.2mA. For a 64 Ah Lithium
battery, the life estimate is 3.3 years. You can easily do this calculation on a
browser:
Typically for a device calling in once per day the current consumption should be
less than 3mA.
The average current consumption is often high for a few days after installation, so
wait until it has stabilized. Resetting the logger clock will reset the averaging
calculations for supply current.
