7.2.3 Mode "Rinse BS"
Before each measurement, the system consisting of the BSU 8110 and FCU 8110 must
be cleaned thoroughly in order to eliminate measurement errors due to residues of a
previous sample.
Mode M5 :"Rinse BS" of the FCU 8110 is designed for this purpose.
We recommend using filtered benzene as the flushing fluid.
It is recommended that flushing is also carried out after measuring higher viscosity oils
which have been heated.
Description:
The Bottle Sampling Unit BSU 8110 (optional accessory) can be flushed using Mode M5.
The flushing volume is pre-set in the LIMITS menu.
When the START key is pressed, pressure in the pressure chamber builds up first.
Then the shut-off valve is opened and the flushing fluid begins to flow.
The flow rate is adjusted using the control knob on the front of the BSU. (The flow control
valve on the FCU 8110 is de-activated during bottle sampling operation. Messages in the
FCU display relate to the control knob on the front of the BSU.)
Once the BS charge time has elapsed the pre-set flushing volume is fed through.
Afterwards pressure is released from the pressure chamber and the measurement tank is
drained.
