Function 

After the FAM is switched on and the purification operation starts, the 2/2 directional 
valve 

(1) 

and the vacuum pump

 (4) 

configures the required vacuum. Because of this 

vacuum, the fluid which is to be purified is sucked into the vacuum chamber 

(2)

. The 

fluid trickles downward over a special tower packing. The fluid is collected in the 
bottom of the reactor. After reaching the level sensor

the evacuation pump 

(5)

 is 

switched on and pumps the fluid via the fluid filter 

(7)

 towards the outlet. At the 

same time, the 2/2 directional valve 

(1) 

closes and the fill level in the vacuum 

chamber sinks to the level switch

. When this occurs, the 2/2 directional valve 

(1)

 

opens and and fluid flows from the inlet into the vacuum chamber until it reaches the 
level switch 02. The 2/2 directional valve closes and the procedure begins again. 

The vacuum in the vacuum chamber (2) sucks air out through the air filter (3). This 
air absorbs the moisture of the fluid and is then sucked out by the vacuum pump 

(4)

. 

With a special cooling system

1

 the air is cooled and partially dried within the vacuum 

pump. The resulting condensed water is fed to the operating water using the water-

operated vacuum pump. If more water is extracted than can be used by the pump 
(evaporated), it is emptied via an excess flow valve

into the condensate water 

container

. If less water is extracted than can be used by the pump, it is manually 

refilled by the automatic water connection
