To disengage and engage the drive
system
CAUTION:
Only disengage or
engage the drive system when the
product is parked on level ground.
If it is necessary to move the product by hand, with
the engine off, the drive system must be disengaged.
The drive system is disengaged and engaged by
the bypass linkage. The bypass linkages are found
below the rear engine guard.
Follow the procedure below to disengage the drive
system.
1. Park the product on level ground and stop the
engine.
WARNING:
Let the engine
become cool before you disengage
or engage the drive system.
2. Remove the ignition key.
3. Set the cutting deck to transport position.
4. Set the control levers to neutral position.
5. Pull the bypass linkages up and out of the slots.
6. Engage the drive system in opposite sequence.
To set the cutting deck in transport
position or mow position
The cutting deck must be in transport position during
transportation.
• To set the product in transport position, pull the
cutting height lever in the direction of the seat
and put it in the highest cutting height position.
• To set the product in mow position, set the
correct cutting height. Refer to
.
To set the cutting height
1. Pull the cutting height lever in the direction of the
seat.
2. Steer the cutting height lever to the notch for the
correct cutting height.
To start the engine
1. Sit on the seat.
2. Set the cutting deck to the transport position.
To set the cutting deck in transport
position or mow position on page 12
.
3. Push the PTO button to disengage the drive on
the cutting deck.
4. Engage the parking brake. Refer to
and disengage the parking brake on page 11
.
5. If the temperature is more than 32 F°/0 C°, do
the steps that follow.
a) Move the throttle control to the full throttle
position.
b) Push and turn the ignition key to the start
position.
Note:
Do not keep the ignition key in the
start position for more than 5 seconds at a
