How To Service The Air Filter
Replace the air filter every 50 hours; more often in
dusty or dirty conditions.
Do not use pressurized air or solvents to clean the
filter. Pressurized air can damage the filter and
solvents will dissolve the filter.
CAUTION
1 Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark
plug.
2 To remove the cover (A), press in on the two side
tabs (B) while pulling out on the cover (A).
3 To prevent dirt from entering the carburetor (D),
carefully pull the filter (C) away from the carburetor
(D).
4 If the filter (C) is very dirty or damaged, replace it
with a new filter.
5 Install the filter and cover onto the carburetor.
6 Connect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
Gasoline and its vapors are
extremely flammable and explosive.
Fire or explosion can cause severe
burns or death.
¯
Never start or run the engine with the air
cleaner or the filter removed as a fire or
explosion could result. A defective air filter will
cause a loss of engine power. If dirt or dust
enters the engine through the carburetor, the
result will be excessive wear or damage to the
engine. Replace a damaged or clogged air
cleaner immediately.
