8. Stream Wireless Features
When you press the
Online
button located in the centre of the top key row, the Stream will switch
to the online bookshelves. You cannot access the online bookshelves while the Stream is in
airplane mode. The airplane mode disables all wireless communication from the Stream and
should be activated when you travel by airplane. Disabling the airplane mode will therefore allow
wireless communication. Press and hold the
Online
button to enable or disable the airplane
mode. If you are not using the online bookshelves, it is best to leave the airplane mode enabled
as it will reduce battery consumption. Press the
Online
button to toggle from the online
bookshelves to the standard bookshelves.
When the Stream is connected to a wireless network and has Internet access, it will access the
HumanWare website from the online bookshelves. The Stream will check for any available NLS
authorization keys (in the United States only). If a key is found for your Stream, it will be
downloaded and installed automatically. The Stream will also check for any available software
updates.
