12.4 Logging In to a Server Node Over a Network Port

by Using PuTTY

Procedure

Step 1 Set an IP address and a subnet mask or add route information for the PC so that

the PC can properly communicate with the server.

You can run the Ping

10.10.1.104 (IP address of the destination server node or

HMM)

command on the PC command-line interface (CLI) to check the

communication between the PC and the server.

Step 2 Double-click PuTTY.exe.

The PuTTY Configuration window is displayed, as shown in

Figure 12-24
