Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1.
Configure IP addresses for interfaces to ensure connectivity of links.
2.
Configure a VRRP backup group on Router A and Router B. Ensure that Router A is the
master and Router B is the backup.
3.
Configure IS-IS on Router A and Router C to ensure that the routes between them are
reachable.
4.
Associate Router A with the route to Router C's interface connected to the network. If the
tracked route is withdrawn or becomes inactive, Router A reduces its VRRP priority value
and triggers a master/backup VRRP switchover.
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
l
IP addresses of interfaces on the switch, Router A, Router B, and Router C, shown in
(For details, see the configuration files.)
l
Virtual IP address (10.1.1.10/24) and preemption delay time (20 seconds)
l
Routing protocol parameters for Router A and Router C: Router A's IS-IS entity name
(10.0000.0000.0001.00) and IS-IS level (Level-1), and Router C's IS-IS entity name
(10.0000.0000.0002.00)
l
Route (destination address of 10.2.1.1) tracked by VRRP and value (40) by which Router
A's VRRP priority decreases if the route becomes unreachable.
