LRFU 3 x 20 MHz+MRFU 3 x 20 MHz
If more than three sectors are configured for each band, LRFUs are preferentially positioned in
the slots from left to right in cabinet 2, and MRFUs are preferentially positioned in the slots from
left to right in cabinet 1. If more than six MRFUs are configured, MRFUs can be positioned in
the slots from left to right in cabinet 2 after all the slots in cabinet 1 are occupied. Then, LRFUs
are positioned to the right of the MRFUs.
3.7.5 Slot Assignment for the RFUs in a Base Station Working in
GSM+UMTS Mode
When a base station works in GSM+UMTS mode, the RFU slot assignment in a cabinet must
comply with specific principles.
Precautions for RFU Slot Assignment
l
The 3900 series macro base station of SRAN5.0 supports the configurations of MRFUs,
hybrid configurations of GRFUs and MRFUs, and hybrid configurations of GRFUs and
WRFUs. Hybrid configurations are used only for capacity expansion. The base station with
the hybrid configurations of GRFUs and MRFUs does not support MIMO.
l
In a base station, the RFUs in the same frequency band must be of the same type. For
example, in a GSM+UMTS base station with the configuration of GSM 900M S4/4/4/4
+UMTS 900M S1/1/1, four GSM sectors and three UMTS sectors are configured. In this
case, MRFUs rather than GRFUs or DRFUs must be configured for the GSM sectors.
