3.5.5 Configuration Principles for the CPRI Ports on the RFU in the
GSM+UMTS Base Station
When a base station works in GSM+UMTS mode, the RFUs in the cabinet are the MRFUs, and
the boards configured in the BBU are the GTMU, UBRI, WMPT, and WBBPb/WBBPd.
Basic CPRI Port Connection Principles
l
The MRFU can work in dual-star topology rather than chain topology.
l
When the MRFU works in dual-star topology, the signals in the same mode cannot be
transmitted over two CPRI links.
l
The MRFU cannot be connected to the RRU.
shows the CPRI port connection principles for the MRFUs working in GSM+UMTS
mode.

CPRI Port Configuration Principles
In co-cabinet mode, the CPRI port configuration principles of the DRFUs/GRFUs and WRFUs
follow the configuration principles in GSM and UMTS modes respectively.
In co-module mode, the CPRI port configuration principles are as follows:
l
The CPRI0 port on the MRFU is connected to the GTMU or UBRI for GSM data
transmission.
l
The CPRI1 port on the MRFU is connected to the WBBPb or WBBPd for UMTS data
transmission.
l
The configuration principles for the CPRI ports on the MRFUs are as follows:
