Configuration Roadmap

The configuration roadmap is as follows:

Configure basic RSTP functions, including:

Configure the RSTP mode for the switching devices on the ring network.

Configure primary and secondary root bridges.

Set a path cost for the ports to block certain ports.

Enable RSTP to eliminate loops.

Enable RSTP globally.

Enable RSTP on all the ports except those connected to terminals.

NOTE

RSTP is not required on the ports connected to terminals because these ports do not need to
participate in RSTP calculation.
