An FE combo interface consists of an optical Ethernet interface and an electrical Ethernet
interface on the panel. The two interfaces have only one internal forwarding interface. The
electrical and optical interfaces are multiplexed, and only one of them can work at a time.
When one of the Ethernet interfaces is working, the other interface is shut down.

The FE electrical interface (10/100 Mbit/s auto-sensing) transmits and receives services
at 10 Mbit/s or 100 Mbit/s.

The FE optical interface (100 Mbit/s) transmits and receives services at 100 Mbit/s.
NOTE

In V200R008C30 and earlier versions, a combo interface works as an electrical interface and uses a
network cable to transmit and receive data by default.

In V200R008C50 and later versions, a combo interface works in auto mode and automatically works
as an optical or electrical interface by default.
GE optical interface
A GE optical interface transmits and receives Ethernet services at 1000 Mbit/s.
