Description

Connection type

Static IP

: The IP address of the terminal is assigned by the

network administrator. If this mode is selected, you need
to enter the local IP address, subnet mask, and gateway IP
address.

l

Dynamic IP

: The terminal obtains an IP address

automatically over the Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol (DHCP) when a DHCP server is available on the
network.

l

PPPoE

: The terminal accesses the broadband network in

dial-up mode, such as the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber
Line (ADSL). If the Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet
(PPPoE) mode is selected, you need to set the user name
and the password.

Local IP address
Subnet mask

This specifies the IP address and the subnet mask of the local
terminal.

Alternate IP address
Alternate subnet mask

The main IP address and the alternate IP address need to be in
different network segments. The alternate IP address and the
IP address of the gatekeeper (GK) need to be in different
network segments.

Dialing mode

The dial-up process complies with PPPoE. Enter the user name
and password provided by your broadband access service
provider in 

User name

 and

. Then select a dial-up

mode.

Auto

: The terminal sets up a dial-up connection over the

IP network after startup. If the service is charged, charging
starts after the dial-up connection is established.

: Use the dial-up program to access the network.

Gateway address

This specifies the gateway IP address that corresponds to the
IP address of the local terminal. You must set this gateway IP
